Four Girls, Three Spinning Wheels and a Loom
The team has been working very hard these past couple of weeks to ready themselves for the sheep-to-shawl competition taking place at the Troy fair on July 29th. They’ve been carding, spinning and weaving their hearts out!
Abby, Emily, Lydia and Clara began spinning and weaving together in the spring of this year. They chose the name The Warrior Run Weavers
and decided to compete at the fair as a preamble to the PA State Farm Show
competition in January of 2010. The
girls have accomplished much in the few short months that they’ve been
together.
Clara is the official weaver for the team. She’s been practicing with this beautiful homespun yarn that Hilary, a very talented spinner and friend living on the Always Somethin’ Farm supplied.
Wrapping this around my neck makes me long for the cooler days ahead.
