At the end of the nine months, we wait; these surely are the longest hours.
Spring and summer flew by...but now the days seem endless.
Stevie is so anxious to welcome her new little one into the world and hold him/her close. Her swelled tummy has been a cozy home for many weeks, but now she longs to have her arms full of baby.
This morning was one of the tough ones for Stevie. Seeing her tears, I quickly emailed many moms who understand, and asked them to pray with me for her. Not only are they praying, but they have offered words of encouragement and have shared end-of-pregnancy stories that have turned tears into laughter. Thank you!
I'd like to share this prayer written this morning by my dear, delightful friend, Christine. Her prayerful words brought tremendous smiles.
Thank you, Lord, for the gift of friends!
Good morning Father.
Thank you for Stevie. I love Stevie. Thank you for Donna too. I love Donna. I am grateful for these 2 families who are sharing Your Word in speech, action and with their hearts. I know You listen to our small requests – like finding keys and providing lipstick we can’t afford, and all sorts of things like that. You tell us to come to you as loved children, trusting You. So that’s what we do this morning, Daddy God. Here are my beautiful sisters in Christ. Would you tell the baby to come out now? Would you finish him or her in there, finish knitting the baby together in Stevie’s womb and then give him a little pat on the butt and tell him to get going?! Thank you for deciding exactly who this baby is and choosing Stevie as the mamma and deciding on the perfect moment for birth. Thank you for giving Stevie strength and endurance for labor. Please comfort her and be present to her. Please bless this baby and this family. And please pour out your Holy Spirit on Stevie as she delivers another of Your own children. And may Your Spirit touch also the baby. And may the nurses and doctors see The Glory of God!
Amen
