The weather was gorgeous on Wednesday, so we took off for an afternoon at Montour Preserve. They are still collecting sap at the Sugar Shack where we were able to walk through the woods to observe the tapped trees and the various methods used to collect the liquid gold.
We pulled the spiles from our trees yesterday and boiled down all the sap that we had collected this week. I was surprised at how much syrup we were able to reap from our last minute efforts.
