My time has been so limited these past weeks as life plays out before me. I’ve had little opportunity to express my thoughts, though I’ve been following, very closely, the events of our nation and the thoughts and words of others. Elizabeth says it well, as does Kimberlee.
I first learned of Sarah Palin last spring when Elizabeth wrote of her powerful witness; Governor Palin instantly gained my respect and admiration. Her child was embraced as the blessing he is, not as a burden to be endured.
As the mom of a Down syndrome child that sadly passed away two weeks before he was to be delivered, I applaud the courage and joy I’ve seen in the Palin family. As I watched, eyes filled with tears, the Palin’s oldest daughter hold-on-tightly to little Trig, I saw a family that is real. They not only talk the talk…they walk the walk. The children have been taught well of the value of life.
While discussing with my mom the selection of Sarah Palin as the VP running mate, we both agreed that God is present in this moment. As we’ve been praying for our nation and its future, we see God moving and answering those prayers. He is doing His part…now we must do ours.
